Taking the Bumps Out of Your
Ride! Welcome to Big Snow Country and enjoy our snowmobile trails. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority was organized in 1990 with only 10 people. As of 1998 we have more than 50 members in the organization and over half of our members take an active part in the gre grooming of the 63 miles of area snowmobile trails. The G.R.T.A. is an entirely volunteer nonprofit organization partially funded by the State of Michigan. All remaining funds are acquired through donations from businesses and snowmobile enthusiasts throughout the area. The G.R.T.A membership actively participates in fund raising events year round and sponsors and instructs a snowmobile safety class yearly for future snowmobilers. The G.R.T.A. maintains our trails with two pieces of grooming equipment. A John Deere / Gilbert track machine and a new 2000 Tucker Tera-Cat. It is a year round operation with our volunteers putting countless hours in keeping the area snowmobile trails in top condition for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy Gogebic County!
