SISU Ski Fest – Ironwood, MI – January 11, 2020

What a great day of snowfall today, The snow started at 8 AM and it's still snowing! We picked up about 4-6 inches during the day and the groomers were out until noon, no new tracks set today but we will regroom in the early AM and reset classic tracks. Katie Urban the Park Interpreter at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park wants to get kids into the Porkies to learn outdoor skills like backpacking, archery, snowshoeing, orienteering, skiing, and more. The Friends of the Porkies bought 15 backpacks to kick-off the Outdoor Skills Academy for local kids but more funds are needed to purchase equipment and pay for transportation for school groups to the Porkies. Donate today at phfgive.org/givingtuesday

I can name that cabin in 1 pic! 🙂 I miss the porkies so much, my last couple years living in the UP I could barely get there because of the waiting list. I hope locals are at least having a chance now to explore and appreciate some amazing gem of nature

In 1983 it skied the porkies in -25degrees at Christmas
