Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park - the "Porkies"
WINTER STORM WARNING UPDATE: Big snow continues to fall (as seen in this morning's video at the Headquarters building). The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area until 7am tomorrow, with 8 - 12" of snow expected, "or more locally in the higher elevations of the Porcupine Mountains". They are advising "hazardous, if not impossible travel conditions".
ROADS CLOSURE NOTICE: As a result of ice and snow on Summit Peak and Lake of the Clouds roads, we have pulled the gates closed for the season on these roads only. Parking is available on lower elevations of the park. #midnr #miparks #puremichigan #winterishere
