The Lake Only one lake is referred to simply as "The Lake". GitcheGumee meaning large body of water, Lake Superior, the inland sea, is the greatest of the great lakes. Where can you find the lake? Here in the U.P.. Did you know that it would take 300 years to fill it by it's tributaries? "The Lake" contains 10% of the World's fresh water supply. There are several places here to view, swim, fish, and boat in the "The Lake". Charter fishing boats are located in all three of our harbors. Lake Superior is so large and powerful it controls the
local weather. As the gales of November begin to blow the
snow begins to fall.
